Gaven & Reese were so pumped about their adventure on Monday evening!

They were told they could fish a little once we arrived at our location. (This consisted of hanging a bolt- no hooks- off the end of a line dunked in water…)  They did not want to put those poles down.  We had a great time, the subjects were so photogenic, & the weather was beautiful! (Finally!!!)

1 down!

3-w.jpg

Want an amazing game! If anyone flipped passed ESPN this evening, you may have caught a glimpse of one tense, tough baseball game. Playing nine innings, you may have thought it was a Major League game, but it was just a group of hard working, extremely talented 12 & 13 year old boys, surrounded by over 18,000 people.

My cousin, Zachary Cart, plays on this team & we’ve been following them closely as they’ve now coined the name “The Bayou Bashers” & “Louisiana Lighting” on their cross-country trip, victory after victory. Tonight was South Lake Charles’ (now known just as the “Southwest” team) first game & victory of the Little League World Series. And what an AWESOME game it was! They went 3 innings into overtime, staying a strong 0-0 until we finally got one run in. We had to hold the home team for one last bat, & we succeeded!

Stay tuned for their upcoming games, competing for the very-coveted title as Little League World Series Champions. They will play at 2:00p.m. on Sunday, then again on Monday, same time.

Congrats, Zach! We are so very proud of you!

Moon pics

My husband & I were outside playing with our two great danes when I looked up & saw this from our backyard. I ran in &, thankfully, had a loaded camera. I ran back outside, hoping this gorgeous view hadn’t changed too quickly, and I was fortunate. I love this picture. It’s going to be my new wallpaper on our computer at home, if I can convince someone to take Jeff Gordan off first. :P

This one (below) is my favorite of these pictures.

Obviously, these images were taken in the Mickey D’s drive through. After a session, we were hanging out with a friend of ours laying cabinets (woo hoo!) & the guys got a little hungry. So, I ventured off to McDonald’s & got stuck in line for about 10 minutes. Conveniently, & once again, I was happy to have my camera when I realized the cool “view” I had from my driver’s window. If I became famous & nationally known for these prize winning pics, I would name this series “Drive-Thru View”. (lol) :)

I love shooting up.  Especially right at & after the sun has set.

This may sound a little “hippie-ish”, but I think it is amazing how much the scenery above us changes.  It’s never the same &, in an instant, the clouds have moved, the sun is a little further down, & our world is bathed in a slightly different tone…all in a matter of seconds.

The Brickyard 400

brickyard-collage-w.jpg

Ok, so, if you can even BEGIN to tell what’s happening in this collage, it looks a little nuts, right?

Well, ever since Adam, the Nascar/Jeff Gordan fan, has come into our football driven family, it has interested everyone. Who can believe that there is something BETTER on the tube on a Sunday afternoon beside football?!

Welcome to the world of Nascar.

Adam’s been a huge fan for several years now & over the past year or so, the family has really gotten into these Sunday afternoon races.

My mom decided a few weeks ago to have a little get-together for the Brickyard 400, a fairly large race that was scheduled for this past Sunday, the 6th. We started getting a little pumped about it & decided to buy a few sponges & make Brickyard shirts. It was a blast! Each of the family’s shirts were different from the next. Christina (from Christina Louvierre Photography) & her car-lovin husband & precious little girl, Natalie, came & joined in on the Sunday fun, too!
