We had such a great time shooting Allison’s pre-wedding bridals.  I don’t think I’ve ever laughed that much during a session!  By way of Allison’s “connections” (aka-work), we were given permission to “play” on the gorgeous L’Auburge golf course for the afternoon.  Allison is so easy to work with & doesn’t have one bad angle!  When first met up in the L’Auburge golf caddy area, I thought it was crazy when she told me she was going barefoot for the session!  That was just a little forshadowing to our very much laid-back & halarious session.

The picture featuring Ms. Fogal riding on the back of the golf cart shows where she spent her travel time while my fellow voyager (her good friend & bridesmaid) and I navigated the hills of L’Auberge.  At one point (actually, right before I handed over the wheel), I was trying to release the brake when the cart jolted forward, almost throwing off our bride!  At that point I realized:  I may be able to drive a stick shift RX-8, but not a golf cart with valuable luggage hanging off the back end!

To say the least, it was definately an adventurous session!  And what a blast it was!

I had a such a great time shooting this cute couple’s pre-wedding pics.  These two met on the McNeese football field one night when Allison was cheering during a game & they thought it would be great to get some shots at such a sentimental place.  Besides Blake’s obvious compassion for Ally, he’s also a little attached to someone else…his Harley Davidson bike!  Blake felt that the bike deserved to be part of their pictures, & we both agreed.  It made for some really fun shots!  I can’t wait for their wedding in January.  Congrats, you two!

Precious little Ainsley. At just 4 weeks old, this little one has a mind of her own. Anna worked hard all day to have her first born content and, possibly napping, for our evening session. Unfortunately, Ainsley had her own idea of when nap time was. But, thanks to the compassion of my own mother, who was adamant about the importance of having a rocker here at my studio, Anna was able to coax her baby girl into falling asleep and our session continued.

Erica & Franklin

Erica & Franklin had an amazing wedding at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here in Lake Charles. As with Gena & Erik’s church, this one was also given a complete makeover after Rita came & left. The stained glass & available light was beautiful! I had not had the opportunity to shoot a wedding in this church until this past weekend, but I am definitely excited about my upcoming wedding here in November.

This couple has always been one of my favorites. There is something about them & their love for each other that just lights up the entire room. I am so happy for them & I can only hope to stay in contact with them as they head for Houston to start their new lives.

For some reason, this wedding just hit the spot for me. I don’t know if it was the couple & me having the chance to get to know them over these past months, or whether it was the amazing homily given by their priest, or the awesome music. But whatever it was, something about their wedding just felt…blessed.
