2000 Health Foundation Gala Headshots

Over the past two weeks, I’ve been scheduling little “headshot sessions” for each of the featured “Local Celebrity” Couples/Dancers for The 2000 Health Foundation’s upcoming fundraiser: A “Platinum & Pearls” Gala on September 16th @ L’Auberge. 

I have already worked with Stephanie earlier this summer to create their billboards.  (Blostpost featured here.)  I’ll also be covering the Gala that night, showcasing the competing dancers. (From ballroom to salsa & other dances I can’t remember- they will all be competing!)  Being a non-profit organization, I’ve “donated” & given a large discount for all of my services.  But we’ve also just added another incentive: 

**For every order placed from Gala coverage (which will be on the online ordering), LJP will donate 10% back!**

I tried to get a little information from each of the couples to feature their “celebrity status”.  I don’t think I have something for everyone right now, but when I get a little more info, I’ll update it.  The Gala is on a Sunday night.

(Marshall is the founder of Simien Law Firm in Lake Charles.)

(Kevin is the Calcasieu Parish Police Juror & former NFL Denver Broncos player.)

(Julio is the Executive Director & CEO of the Family & Youth Counseling Agency & his daughter, Elizabeth, is a Senior @ St. Louis High School.)

Artesia opened today!

 A friend of mine, Christina Plauche’, sent me an invitation to their V.I.P. Party that was held last night for Artesia.  She’s the manager of the new clothing & accessory boutique in Lake Charles.  (If the name sounds familiar, there IS a sister store in Lafayette.)

Artesia had an absolutely amazing turnout for their invitation-only party!  My good friend Christina, my mom & I went to check it out.  Wine & appetizers were served, which included sushi (& Marcia Plauche’s amazing chicken sandwhiches)! 

I picked up a few things, including this cool fish necklace.  (The whole fish moves, even the fin & tail!)

And this really huge bag, which I will be calling my “Mary Poppins Bag” because I should be able to pull just about anything out of it!  (I tend to be a small purse girl, but this one I just felt I “needed” too.  lol)

I also picked up a shirt & dress, too!

Well, ladies, Artesia was great!  It officially opened this morning if anyone want to check it out!  (It’s across the street from Bailey’s Audio in the old “Italian Villa” building.)

Finally – New cards!

New LJ cards were finally created, printed & are now on the table!

When I started the business professionally in 2004, I had brainstormed on what to call it.  So very proud of myself, I thought of & decided on “Through the Lens Photography”.  After registering my new business with the state, city, & getting all of my liscensing, I THEN realized that a quick Google Search brought up several Through the Lens websites throughout the country!  So, when the launch of my website came in February 2006, all Through the Lens domain names were taken.  (All the way to “ThroughtheLens1.com” & “ThroughtheLens.org, .net, .biz, .info, .us”)

But www.LindseyJanies.com was a little more of an internet rarity, thus the beginning of a name change came into play.

So, new cards have finally been made with my amazing logo that I LOVE created by David @ Pro Sign Effex (337-377-7309) last December, my website, & my “new” studio address of Sulphur, La!  All of my little forces have finally been combined!    (I know, I’m a geek.)

In all honesty, I have a dentist appointment (with my dad- yeah!) Thursday morning & as soon as I’m back from that I plan on doing some serious catch-up! 

Part of the blog catch up is some from Keisha & Ross’ wedding on the 11th.  I can’t really tell you why, but my detail shots seemed to be some of my favorites to blog!

To start, the rings.

 

The lobby of the hotel was so awesome & the staff was so nice.  When they saw a 120 pound girl rounding the corner with a fat camera bag & a massive dress in an even more massive pink bag, they just asked what they could do to help!  I told them that letting me use their lobby & hang this big thing would be enough. 

 

Keisha pointed something out as I was going crazy over her choice of wedding shoes:  I’ve ALWAYS gone crazy over her shoes every time I’ve seen her!  Well, except when she’s in her steel toe engineer boots, but every OTHER time… lol

Kyle, Keisha’s son, looked so so cute!  Too bad he was walking with his cousin, or I would have had those two “hooked up” by the end of the day.

Smoothies!

 So I can’t really say all that I’d love to about these images, but I could & DID want blog some of them.  Don’t they just make your mouth water?! 

I’ve recently had some really cool inquiries for some commercial work that I’ve been thrilled to work on.  This has been one of my favorites, though!  I’ve had a blast doing these & I have a second session to come!

As soon as everything is completed on my end with my clients, I’ll be able to share more info.  In the meantime, check back for some more with gourmet coffees & a few more smoothies.
