Brice & Micheal

We had this cute couple’s e-session a few weeks ago and had so much fun!  As you’ll see from the images, Micheal had Brice laughing most of the afternoon, which kept Ariel and I laughing as well.  Although I won’t be able to photograph their Spring wedding in Cabo Saint Lucias, I couldn’t be happier to have Brice for their engagements, as well as her bridal session!  THANK YOU Keely & Jason for the referral! 

We started the afternoon at their beautiful home with Micheal’s beloved cat, “Kitty”, who lived to be a whopping FIFTEEN years old!  (She’s since passed away, making these pictures even more priceless.)  Being a kitty girl as well and having just lost White Kitty a few weeks ago (our precious little deaf white cat), I could completely related to the love and compassion you have for your four-legged family members.

Bump update. ;o)

Here we have my preggo self.  Yes, just like the last post with pic, I do realize my face is NOT included.  wink wink.   I’m well aware.  And although everyone says “You look great!”, you can’t help but feel like a cow and attempt to hide yourself behind a (very large) tree everytime you see anyone in fear someone will call you fat.  (Yes, that’s how my crazy brain works at this stage.)

But I just wanted to update everyone as I approach my eight month mark this weekend.  A little over FOUR WEEKS TO GO and counting.  eeeekkkk!!! 

So, to post this documentative iphone pic for all the world to see is a brave move on my part.  Nice comments, only, please.  hehe

And secondly, here’s a self-portrait shot of “the team” before we leave for our very last wedding of 2008 on Saturday.  Yes, we’re holding a shot gun.  Why?  Who knows.    We attempted to have tough faces, telling ourselves (well, me) that yes, you CAN shoot TWO seven hour weddings back to back and live to tell about it!  (Jules & Brandon were married Friday night, with Bridgette & Barry’s wedding on Saturday.) 

Well, I survived both weddings, each night ending with a story.  Saturday’s being the best.  Let’s just say I ended up driving on the Greywood Golf Course in a Chrysler 300 (not a small vehicle).  So, yes, we survived.  Barely. 

Karson & Deacon

We had the cutest two the little boys for a session a few weeks ago and it was right when the weather started to give us “hints” of cooler (aka- NOT 90 degree) weather.  It was perfect for the outfits Shelly had chosen for the boys’ portraits. 

I have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Ariel, who was the only one out of Shelly, Ariel, and myself that was fast enough to keep up with the extremely active Karson.  After 6 months of working together, I just thought I knew what she was capable of, but no.  Not until I watched her keep up Karson.  Whatever FOUNTAIN of “energy and non-stop action” this kid drinks out of – I wanna know where it is!!!  For over an hour, he NEVER stopped moving and running!  Props to the kid.

Thank you so much. We really enjoyed our session. I can only imagine how great the pictures turned out. Especially DD’s. I can’t wait to see them!  K had a blast at the park. Thank you so much Ariel for all your help with the boys!  We had a blast! Thanks again.

Well, Shelly, I hope you enjoy them!  We had a great time and I’m so glad we were finally able to capture the personalities of your pride and joy.

Meagan & Max (part 1)

This is a post that’s been long overdue!  I think one reason I’ve put it off is knowing how much I LOVED their capturing their day… from start to finish it was perfect, sweet, and everything I think they’d hoped for!  No, this is not the wedding I shot while Ike was hitting (that post will come later!); but a week after Ike.  Despite loosing Meagan’s prints in the midst of Ike via my lab (eeek!), she was so calm and sweet about everything and with the amazing help of Christina (thanks, chic!), I pulled a superman and had new prints overnighted and framed and ready to go by Friday.  Yay!  SO, like I said – despite everything, the day played out perfectly!  You may remember this cute family from their engagement session back in June.

Ashley

Goofy - fun - AWESOME - memorable.      

That would describe shooting my friends’ little sister, whom I’ve watched grow up for the past SEVEN years.  Ashley was AMAZING for her session and it was so fun to play with her until I “pulled” every different side of her personality OUT for me to see.  This first image is so strong, and for several reasons.  What I love most about my career is that I feel it’s my JOB to show WHO you are through these images.  I have to.  It’s like I can’t stop until I do.  Seniors are always my favorite.  The stories behind one image are SO GREAT.  I think knowing what was actually going on when one image is captured makes it so fun.  This is one of THE LAST images of the day.  I knew there was a stronger, more relaxed and confident side of Ashley that I needed to get from her.  I asked her one thing.  Something only her and I know.  And this is what she gave me.  I just love it.  Sessions like this just makes me SO THANKFUL I’ve found what I feel I was meant to do.
