This is definitely an unusual post! But I really think it’s cool.
Just as I feel it SO NECESSARY for everyone elseto document pieces of their lives, I of course, believe that same thing! Throughout my pregnancy, I had an amazing photographer reserved for my maternity session. It was scheduled and I couldn’t have been more excited! Unfortunately, after both hurricanes causing Adam’s work schedule to become INSANE for two months straight, I was forced to cancel. I was devastated.
So, about two weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon (at eight months pregnant), Adam and I set up the studio and I became the subject. Was it easy? No.
Hard? Not really! We had a great time and I couldn’t have been happier! Seeing this task was a lot harder than most sessions, with Adam not quite knowing what he was doing, I made a lot of trips between the lights and camera throughout our one hour session. How did we get the last image? It really wasn’t that hard! We shot about 20 images with both of us in them via the timer and, once again, a lot of running back and forth between shots.
Why am I sharing MY maternity images? Because. Because I share other maternity images that I’ve taken; why not share my own? My session was more natural and played largely on light & lines. I’ve never photographed a session quite like my own. I think it really shows how beautiful (in the right light - lol) an expecting mother can be and I HOPE that this inspires my other expecting mothers to have the same images done.
So… here I am! At a whopping EIGHT MONTHS preggo for our first baby – who will be here in ONE WEEK!!!
