Dad’s accident

I took these pictures of my dad about 2 weeks ago.  He absolutely LOVES taking these crazy 75 mile bike rides every Saturday morning.

This past Saturday’s ride did not turn out well.  Riding about 12 miles North of Sulphur with a group of guys, he fell.  We’ve received numerous calls these past three days, with people saying they heard he was on a motorcycle, that it was a head injury, spinal injury, etc.  News travels fast, I know, especially when “Dr. Ardoin” got in such a bad wreck.  So, to clarify the travelling news, he was riding in a “pack” (kind of like ducks in the sky) and his tire rubbed another guys’ tire going 27 mph & he flipped over the bike, landing on his head & sliding about 10 feet down the pavement.  His collarbone is broken in numerous places and his pelvic bone is cracked in two places.

He’ll be in the hospital for a number of days, until he can move.  Right now, he just can’t.  We don’t know much more than that so far… being two bad injuries that have to heal on their own, it will probably just take lots of time.

Please keep him in your prayers.

Lindsey, I love this special tribute to your Dad. These pics really tell the story of who he is. He has had a very, very rough week, but we are all very positive and faithful. We are hoping to have him home by Saturday.
So, please keep him in your prayers, this has been very hard on all of us.
    Love, Mom

I found your blog just passing through. If these are all your photos, you’re very talented. I’m impressed. I’m sorry to hear about your father. This is terrible news. I wish the best for him, yourself and your family.

    Dear Everyone,
Lindsey’s dad is coming home tomorrow, Monday, June 24th. Thanks to everyone for prayers, flowers, visits, phone calls, etc. We are blessed already because he is able to walk with help and with a cane. His spirits are good and we are all very hopeful that he will be back to “normal” in about 4-6 weeks. Keeping him still for that long will be the hard part now. Thanks again, Kim A.

Had no idea about your crash and burn experience but am thrilled to hear you are on the mend. What can I say!!! Is he “Back to Normal”?? Just kidding Dr.CJ I keep you and your family in my prayers faithfully all the time but will ask for extra healing speed. Have you ever considered becoming a pilot? You should write a book while you are in recovering mode -what many seasons God has brought you and your family through. And He’s still faithful to His children. My love to all of you – you’re still family to me too. Love, Pam
